Thursday, a former Sevier County judge was sentenced to almost 4 years in prison for keeping child pornography in his computer. According to FOXNews, a federal judge sentenced Ronald R. Reagan to 46 months in prison, plus 10 years supervised release.

Allegedly, Ronald R. Reagan had many images of children who were involved in sexual activities. Some of the children were prepubescent. Moreover, the images were stored on an office computer.

U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Phillips was the judge who sentenced Reagan, after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

According to court papers, on March 8, 2006, officials with the Knoxville Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Immigration and Customs Enforcement interviewed Reagan. The court documents confirm that he admitted to have entered chat rooms discussions and received pornographic images over the Internet. He also let police officers take his computer, saying that they would find there more evidence against him. Reagan agreed to give his Internet name to police, in order to help them continue the investigation.

Reagan’s lawyer Scott Green asked the judge to sentence his client to probation. Reagan is out jail after paying $200,000 and he is waiting for his prison assignment.
