During the financial crisis America is facing, many industries have asked for bailouts, relying on the fact that it’s the industries that keep the economy going, and that without a reason for spending money, the economy won’t bounce back – the automobile industry received a bailout, for instance.

 

Another industry that now is asking for the same treatment is, somewhat surprisingly, the porn industry. Controversial pornography mogul and fighter for freedom Larry Flynt, along with Joe Francis, are asking for a bailout from Congress for the porn industry – just like any other industry out there.

 

As people are losing their jobs and can’t afford basic commodities, you won’t see many Americans queuing up in front of the local strip club or fighting over the last issue of Playboy or Hustler.

 

Flynt, who loves to be the definition “tongue-in-cheek” behavior, stated that “they (Congress) have never handled our money right since I have been on this earth.” On the same note, Joe Francis, the man who invented “Girls Gone Wild,” said that it was time Congress also bailed out the porn industry. According to Flynt, it was about time that Congress “rejuvenated the sexual appetite of America,” especially since pornographic video sales have gone down 22%. The two moguls expect a bailout of no less than $5 billion.
