Police informed that two Picasso etchings worth almost half a million dollars were stolen from an art gallery this morning. This happened in Palm Beach and the thieves have not been identified yet.

According to The Associated Press, the alarm from Gallery Biba went out at 3:40 a.m Thursday. Janet Kinsella, Palm Beach police spokeswoman said that that someone broke through the back door and took two etchings.

One is worth $150,000 and the other one $300,000. Authorities said that they haven’t found out yet what the etchings depicted and they were still searching for the titles of the two works.

Although the gallery contained painting more valuable that these two works, the person who stole them had set eyes on them.

“Some paintings in there are worth more than that,” Dawson said, Orlando Sentinel reported.

Sgt. Mike Dawson said that, in order to get to the door, somebody would have had to get passed through a 6-foot wooden fence. He also said that police arrived at the gallery 20 seconds after the alarm company made the call

Gallery Biba is a gallery which specializes in artworks by modern and contemporary artists.
