London  - A large fire broke out in an office block in central London Wednesday but there were no immediate reports of injuries or people being trapped, the fire brigade said.

A spokesman said eight fire engines and 40 firefighters were sent to the blaze in an office block in Chancery Lane, where many shops and legal offices are housed.

He said the fifth floor and roof of the Bream's Building were alight.
