Tuesday night, at around 10 p.m., Apple employees reported that a fire broke loose at one of the buildings in the company's campus. The building that was affected by the flames is called Valley Green 6.
The fire seems to have been caused by an air conditioner unit at the roof top of the building. The flames destroyed the roof of Valley Green 6 and affected its second floor also. However, firefighters said that the main damage was caused by smoke as well as the water that was used by them to put the fire out.
The good news is that nobody was reported to have been injured in the fire. It looks like all the people that were in the Valley Green 6 building at that time were evacuated without any difficulties.
On the other hand, Apple might have had some important losses because of the fire. According to the Apple Insider website, the Valley Green 6 building was housing important research and development projects for Apple's future hardware products. As usual, the company made no official statement and didn't say what the building was used for.
Approximately 60 firefighters from four fire departments were dispatched at the place of the incident. Putting the fire out took them about two an a half hours.
It looks like the Cupertino-based company is jinxed. Not only has it taken serious image blows lately due to repeated bad decisions regarding the launching of some problems, but now it suffered some physical damage too, due to the Tuesday fire.
