Due to the fact that Matilda Ledger, Heath Ledger’s daughter
was not named in her father's will, the actors who played variations of Heath
Ledger's character Tony in "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,"
donated their money from the film to the 2 year old daughter of the former Australian film star.
"We've got a movie full of wonderful people who did
extraordinary things to help," director Terry Gilliam, 67, told Britain's The Sun newspaper.
Apparently the daughter of the 28 year old actor was not
included in the will because it was
drawn up before she was born.
Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell have all donated
their fee to the little girl. They all played versions of Ledger’s character
after his death in January 2008 sot that the film could eventually be
completed. At that time production on
the film shut down for two months because of the unfortunate event.
Matilda currently leaves with her mom, actress Michelle Williams, with whom he fell in love
during their shooting “Brokeback Mountain” in 2005.
Regarding her late former husband, Michelle said: “His family
and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two
at a time, and we know that he is with us still,” according to IMDB.com. The actress also has three
movies coming out in 2009 according to the same site.
The star of “The Dark Night” died in his New York flat on January 22nd, 2008 from an
accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
