Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie was the latest celebrity rumored to be pregnant, but according to her mother, we won’t be seeing her with a baby bump just yet.
Although Fergie’s dress at the Grammy Awards ceremony did reveal what looked like a small baby bump while she and her fiancé, actor Josh Duhamel, moved forward with their planned wedding, the singer’s mother Terri Ferguson set the record straight regarding the baby rumors.
Calling in on Los Angeles radio station KIIS FM, Ferguson said on Ryan Seacrest’s show that the rumors “not at all” true.
“Did you see her at the Grammys?” she then asked Seacrest, describing her 32-year-old daughter as “skinny, skinny, skinny.”
Fergie's rep, Hillary Siskind, also rejected Tuesday’s New York Post story which claimed the singer was preggers, saying it’s “Not true.”
“I think people can’t believe people do get married just because they love each other, not because they are pregnant,” she explained.
And asked if she expected to become a grandmother soon, she replied, “Not soon, soon.
“A couple years. They are newly engaged. Let them plan the wedding and all that,” she added.
New York Post's Page Six reported that Fergie and Josh moved up their wedding date because there's a bun in the oven. “She picked up a wedding dress while she was in New York for Fashion Week and wants to move the wedding up so she is married before the bump becomes too obvious,” a source told the tabloid. At Clive Davis' pre-Grammys bash the singer reportedly “just drank water.”
However, mommy had a say on the wedding date as well, revealing that the two “haven’t met with a wedding planner yet.”
“We are not moving up the wedding.”
Fergie and Duhamel, who have been dating for three years, announced their engagement in December last year. “I'm madly in love with him. He understands how to treat a woman and give me respect,” Fergie said at the time.
