Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, and Josh Duhamel tied the knot on Saturday in California. Their wedding plans and location were kept in big secret, and the guests were announced on Saturday morning about it. In addition, the bride and groom forbid any use of cell phones while enjoying the spectacular views of the countryside.
After the two passed beneath a bunch of magnolia trees filled with white roses as to say their vows at Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, a stars’ concert waited for them at the champagne reception. Terri Jackson, Fergie’s mother, stated that Kid Rock rapped together with Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas. “It would cost you a fortune – and I'm sure it did – to see this show," Jackson said during Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show on Monday.
Alfonso Ribeiro, the star from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” was also one of the men of the show. He performed “Billie Jean,” Michael Jackson’s hit and Fergie’s mother said that he and her daughter have been best friends for years.
Jackson confirmed that there have been 350 to 375 guests to Fergie’s wedding, but that she had to wait everybody at the entrance and check their status on a previously made list. She added that the hard thing came when some of the guests tried to bring on cameras or dates.
Some of the relatives and friends of the family were amazed when they found out they couldn’t bring cameras to capture the fabulous event. They even promised that they won’t sell the pictures to the paparazzi, but Fergie and Josh were very strict about this wish.
Jackson added that the guests who wanted to bring in a date or somebody else had to pay extra money “or something.”
Fergie and Josh met and began dating in September 2004 when she together with The Black Eyed Peas appeared on Josh’s show in an episode entitled “Montecito Lancers,” which aired on November 1, 2004. Since 2007, they live together in Brentwood, California and in April of the same year, Fergie admitted her connection with drugs and sex at the time she turned 18.
She reached Maxim’s Hot 100 Women of 2006 and was voted for the 36th position. A year later, she reached No. 10 in the same top. After she and the boys from Black Eyed Peas released two successful albums, she began building a solo career. At first, she recorded the soundtrack for “Poseidon,” but then she had the guts to release her first solo album, “The Dutchess,” on September 19, 2006.
Yet, this solo career didn’t mean a break up with the Black Eyed Peas. Fergie intends to remain connected to the group and to alternate between them and her solo albums. In addition, Will.I.Am was her album’s executive producer.
