After three years of dating, Josh Dushamel finally popped the question to Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas singer.

Josh Dushamel, 35, and Fergie, 32, Stacy Ferguson on her real name, have been dating since September 2004. The two met when Fergie made a guest appearance on Dushamel’s “Las Vegas.”

Dushamel’s representative confirmed the engagement for TMZ.com, but no details were given except that the proposal wasn’t made on Christmas.

No date for the wedding was given yet.  

The news of their engagement comes after Fergie told Blender earlier this month that she and Dusmale are “practically married, anyway” so there’s no rush to get engaged, eonline.com reports.

Fergie said: "I'm madly in love with him. He understands how to treat a woman and give me respect."

According to a source close to the singer, Fergie announced all her girlfriends.

"She said they don't know what kind of wedding they want yet, but that she is the happiest girl on earth," People quoted the source.

Fergie was seen wearing a diamond ring at the American Music Awards on November, but the engagement rumors were denied by her rep.

The two celebrated Josh’s 35th birthday last month.

After two successful albums with The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie decided to try the solo career too.

She launched her solo album “The Dutchess” in September 2006. The songs are almost in the same note as the ones of the Black Eyed Peas with will. i. am as the executive producer. She had five hit singles from the first album, with "London Bridge", "Glamorous", and "Big Girls Don't Cry" reaching number one in the charts.  

At the American Music Awards 2007 she won the Pop or Rock “Favorite Female Artist.”

Fergie is now preparing to end the work at her second solo album and is to appear on the remix of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" for the 25th-anniversary edition of Thriller.
