One of the eight suspects arrested during investigation of the London-Glasgow failed bombings in June, the only female, has been released, according to Scotland Yard.
Marwa Asha, 27, the wife of Mohammed Asha, was arrested on June 30 on the highway in Cheshire, in connection with the three botched bombings in London and Glasgow. Her husband was arrested as well.
Scotland Yard announced Thursday night that she had been released without charges. She worked as a laboratory assistant in England. All eight detainees are in the medical field.
The suspects were detained as British police found two car bombs in central London on June 29 and two men drove a fuel-laden Jeep into Glasgow Airport in Scotland the following day.
Those remaining in custody are Iraqi Bilal Abdullah, a passenger in the Glasgow Jeep, who is also the only one charged so far; Kafeel Ahmed, 27, the jeep’s driver, who is in a Scottish hospital with third-degree burns and has little chance of survival according to hospital sources.
Kafeel Ahmed's brother, Sabeel, 26; Mohammed Haneef, the Indian doctor arrested in Australia; and two other suspects.
There is reportedly no evidence against Haneef and the Australian police has dropped its request to extend his detention.
