Swiss player Roger Federer has advanced in the fourth round
of French Open after a 6-2, 6-3, 6-0 win in front of Potito Starace. "I'm
just happy that things are going well, I haven't lost a set," said Federer.
"I'm feeling well, anyway. It's difficult for everybody here at the moment
with the conditions changing, the gusty winds and the cool conditions," he
added. "I'm happy to have put myself in the position of the fourth round already."
The next opponent of the Swiss player will be the Russian
Mikhail Youzhny, who beat 2003 champion Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-7 (3-7), 7-6
(7-3), 6-2, 6-2.Federer has previously win the Dubai final against Youzhny.
"He's a fantastic player, famous for playing
exceptionally well in practice, but for some reason not tying it together in a
match situation.” said Federer.
In the women’s play, Justine Henin slammed Mara Santangelo
6-2, 6-3 and Serb Jelena Jankovic sent Venus Williams to a third straight
defeat in their series 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in the third round. "It was amazing,
I was really staying tough out there," said Jankovic.
But Serena Williams made up for her sister's exit with a
6-3, 6-4 thumping of Michaella Krajicek.
