Continental Airlines flight 1404 started on its journey from Denver to Houston, at 8 p.m. on Saturday and, unfortunately, this was not an ordinary flight. The plane veered out of the runway just as it was taking off, bursting into flames, and injuring more passengers on that flight. The good thing is that the all passengers escaped with their lives, even though some of them were injured more severely than others.

Federal investigators are trying to find out exactly what happened in the incident, what made the pilot brake at the last moment, causing the plane to veer out of control. The planes logs will be checked and its black boxes. Investigators will also examine the skid marks on the runway and any pieces that came off during the incident.

The Boeing 737 was just taking off, meaning that it was full of gas when the incident happened, and this might be a reasonable explanation for the ferocious flames seen in the plane.

Passengers reported that at the time of the incident the plane was airborne for a little while, and then hit the ground pretty hard and everything was on fire. The fire was so intense that it is reported that the luggage compartments melted and were dripping on the seats.

Authorities say that people should remain calm as the possibility of another similar incident happening very soon is highly improbable. They have also declared that there is nothing wrong with Boeings 737 and that this incident can be taken as a proof of how strongly they are built.
