Craig Nevius, the producer and friend of Farah Fawcett, has confirmed that the actress was hospitalized, but he denied she is in a critical condition as it was rumored.
In a phone interview with the Associated Press, Craig Nevius explained that the movie star was admitted into an Los Angeles hospital due to a blood clot, which could be a possible side effect of the alternative treatment Farah Fawcett underwent in Germany.
Farah Fawcett, who is famous especially for her role as the character Jill Munroe in the TV series Charlie's Angels, was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2006. After few months she was declared cancer free, but in 2007 a malignant polyp was found in the area where Fawcett had been treated for the initial cancer.
She decided to go in Germany to try a new therapy and her battle with the cancer is the subject of a NBC documentary called "A Wing and a Prayer", produced by Craig Nevius.
Speaking about Farah Fawcett’s health status, Craig Nevius said: “She is not on death's door. The family has not gathered to say goodbye.”
In another phone interview with The Associated Press, Farah Fawcett’s doctor, Lawrence Piro, explained that a bleeding has caused a hematoma in on the muscles of her abdomen.
Meanwhile, Redmond O’ Neal, the son of Farah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, was arrested on drug charges and was being held on $25,000 bail.
