Fall Out Boy is a rather new American-based punk band, as Patrick Stump (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, primary composer), Pete Wentz (bass guitar, backing vocals, primary lyricist), Joe Trohman (lead guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums, percussion) joined musical forces in 2001.
Their most successful album was undoubtedly “From Under the Cork Tree”, which was released in 2005. This particular album earned double platinum after it sold over 2.5 million copies in the United States. The band had been headlining tours since 2005 in order to support the album, and continued to do so in 2006. Fall Out Boy “covered” the United States, Canada, Japan and Europe while touring.
Although some have considered them to be just another run-of the-mill wannabe punk band, Fall Out Boy have proven their musical value by adding a little spice to old-school punk. Their latest album, entitled “Folie a Deux”, brings even more novelty to the elitist punk scene. Among the surprises Fall Out Boy have in store for their fans are disco beats, electro beats, organs, Lil Wayne and a most surprising vocal performance from the part of Elvis Costello.
The double-disc album from Fall Out Boy has received praising reviews from music critics, prompting everyone to believe that their album will top “World”, the album released by The All-American Rejects, a punk-rock band also founded in 2001, who are best known for the song “Move Along”.
