The trailer for the latest Harry Potter movie was unveiled. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth film Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson star in.
Director David Yates announced that the film editing is complete and studio officials will soon see the finished product. The trailer for the sixth Harry Potter movie, opening Nov. 21, arrived online Tuesday and makes its debut in theaters on Friday.
The trailer introduces Tom Riddle as a child who grows up to become the world's most malevolent force, Lord Voldemort, played by Ralph Fiennes.
His 11-year-old version is played by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, 10, the actor's nephew. David Yates said that he went for Hero “because of this wonderful haunted quality." The boy was extremely disciplined on the set perhaps because his mother, Martha Fiennes, is a film director herself.
Yates was perfectly aware of how hard it can be for very young actors to find in themselves the darkness required in order to play such a creepy character.
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is expected to feature some sex and drugs and that’s why college students are particularly anxious to see it. However none of these could be seen in the trailer, therefore the youngsters will have to hold their breath until November. "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" began filming in September 2007.
J.K. Rowling said that all seven books plead for tolerance, for an end to bigotry; they are also a debate on how much one ought to obey someone else’s authority. But still a major theme in the series is the theme of death, very well developed in this sixth book through Lord Voldemort.
