While some dream of him, others don’t even want to hear about being involved with Michael Phelps. Breaststroke champion Amanda Beard strongly rejected any rumor of dating fellow swimmer Michael Phelps. 

It seems that the fact that he won no less than eight Olympic medals doesn’t impress the ex-Playboy model much. She told radio show “Johnjay and Rich in the Morning” that she wouldn’t date Phelps on no account. “C’mon, I have really good taste,” she told the radio host. “He’s not really my type, personally.” Moreover, she added, “I go for a little bit different-looking guys.”

Amanda Beard, 26, even said, “Ew. That’s nasty,” when she was asked if she had ever held the golden boy’s hand.

Rumors about the two forming a couple have been circulating for a few days now, but the former Playboy star strongly denied the stories.

On the other hand, the swimming star of the Beijing Olympics simply told “Extra” via satellite that he was not dating Amanda Beard, adding that he knew she had a boyfriend. However, when asked if he was single, the American athlete said that he wouldn’t divulge such information, explaining that only his friends were aware of his relationship status.

“Part of my life is kept to myself. I’m able to relax and be with my friends. Those pretty much are the only people who really know the answer to that question,” he told “Extra”.
