Eva Mendes followed last week’s surprise announcement, that she has been in a rehab facility for the past several weeks, with another one on Thursday – that she had temporarily left the clinic to attend to “personal business” in Los Angeles.
Eva Mendes’ representative confirmed Thursday that the actress has left the Cirque Lodge in Utah but only temporarily. “Eva is attending to some personal business in Los Angeles and intends to return to complete her treatment shortly,” the actress's rep said in a statement.
Last week’s announcement that the “Ghost Rider” actress had been in Utah for several weeks came unexpectedly. Stars are usually not so discreet upon entering rehab and the paparazzi are usually right there to immortalize the moment – yet Mendes got away with it.
The actress’ spokesperson told People.com last week: “Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support.”
She sought help at the same facility that helped Lindsay Lohan though her own plight last summer: the Cirque Lodge drug rehabilitation center, in Sundance, Utah. No details have been provided regarding the substance for which Mendes, 33, is being treated.
Another famous Hollywood actress recently joined the celebrity list of Cirque Lodge dwellers. Kirsten Dunst checked into the facility Thursday, according to People magazine. An unnamed source told People: “She's not doing well. People were pushing her to go in there but there was no intervention.”
While Mendes may have some personal issues to sort out, her professional life is riding a high wave. Later this year, she will appear in a remake of the stage and screen comedy “The Women,” alongside Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Bette Midler, says People.
Mendes is also the proud new face of Calvin Klein Fragrances; the ad campaign that is slated to launch this fall.
