The latest Hollywood star to "rather go naked than wear fur" is big screen bombshell Eva Mendes.

Joining the likes of Alicia Silverstone, Christina Applegate, Kim Basinger and Pamela Anderson, the "We Own the Night" star became the latest PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) pin-up girl to star in the "I’d Rather Go Naked than Wear Fur” ad campaign.

A huge ad featuring the gorgeous 33-year-old actress is currently displayed in Rockefeller Plaza of New York City.
 
In a Q&A interview with PETA, the sexy Latina revealed that she stopped wearing fur after the premiere of her first movie, when her stylist sent her a fur wrap for the evening and Mendes "ignorantly wore it."

"PETA then wrote me a beautiful letter commenting on my less-than-educated choice. I was so impressed that I vowed to them and myself to NEVER wear real fur on the red carpet or in my life again," Mendes recalled.

Talking about the reasons she agreed to the campaign, Mendes explained that "Killing a poor animal and wearing her fur isn’t cool. Respecting all life forms is cool."

The actress, who recently got herself a dog, confessed the she hasn’t had a pet since she was a kid. "I look at my beautiful dog and think, "Of course I'd never eat him or skin him for his fur, so why would I be okay with eating a cow or wearing a cheetah?" It's just not right. It's a contradiction," Mendes said in the interview.
