“Desperate Housewives” newlywed Eva Longoria plans to teach her and hubby Tony Parker’s future children French, Spanish and English.
Eva, 32, speaks English and Spanish, while husband Tony Parker was born in Belgium and is of French nationality. During a fundraiser for Padres Contra El Cancer (Parents Against Cancer) this weekend, the actress told People magazine that their children would learn all three languages spoken at home.
“We will definitely do that – absolutely, absolutely!” Eva said Saturday at the charity event. “Tony and I would love to have kids.”
The actress and the professional basketball player became husband and wife earlier this year in July. They married in Paris and honeymooned on beautiful Caribbean islands.
Life has not always been rosy for the couple, as they went through a brief separation in late 2006, due to their demanding working schedules. They reconciled, became engaged, then married. Children are on their way, it would seem, as both Eva and Tony have expressed a wish for parenting.
“That would be even better than my NBA titles, even if I don't compare private life and sports,” Tony said earlier this year. “Eva talks to me about it all the time. I'd like to have girls, because I come from a world of boys.”
Eva rose to fame in 2004, with her role as Gabrielle Solis on the popular ABC show “Desperate Housewives,” where she stars alongside Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross.
She was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series for her interpretation of the manipulative and adulterous, yet adorable, Gabby.
She also played in the 2006 thriller “The Sentinel,” starring Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland.
While she and her basketball champion husband may be ready to become mom and dad, Eva’s contract reportedly prevents her from becoming pregnant over the following year, as such a change is not in her successful show’s script.
