Esquire Crowns Halle Berry As The Sexiest Woman Alive

The famous Halle Berry was crowned as the “Sexiest Woman Alive” by the men’s magazine Esquire. Halle Berry joins a gallery of famous figures, including Scarlett Johansson, who won the same title in November 2006 and Charlize Theron, the winer of 2007.

However, to celebrate the event, Esquire.com has posted on its website an article in which Halle Berry poses in a parody of a 2000 cover photograph of Bill Clinton and she delivers her acceptance speech.

The 42 year-old actress, who gave birth to a baby daughter in March this year, writes with humor about how it is to be sexy and especially, “The Sexiest Woman Alive”.

“I've been in the business for more than twenty years, and you decide now, at this particular time, that I'm the sexiest woman alive? Come on. I mean, you couldn't go with the Bond-girl year? You didn't like the orange bikini? I liked the orange bikini” writes Halle Berry.

“Does being the sexiest woman alive imply that I know a thing or two about what's sexy and, possibly, about sex itself? I'm not sure, but here's what I do know: I know damned well I'm sexier now than I used to be,” she added.

Halle Berry is not just a beauty but also a real talent. She is the first African-American actress to win an Oscar for Best Actress, for her role in "Monster's Ball”, in which she co-starred with Billy Bob Thornton.

In the same year, 2002, she become an international star after playing Bond girl Jinx in the  blockbuster Die Another Day.

As for her personal life, Halle Berry divorced Atlanta Braves player David Justice in 1996, after four years of marriage. A second four-year matrimonial union, this time to R&B singer Eric Benet, ended in divorce as well, in 2005.

In 2005, she met Gabriel Aubry, the father of her baby, during a Versace photo shoot. It was pretty much love at first sight and the two remained together.

Halle Berry was happy to announce her pregnancy in September 2007, when she was already 3 months along, and she was happy throughout the following months, confessing how she had always wanted a child and how motherhood was a dream come true. She gave birth to Nahla Ariela on March 16th.

Last year, Halle Berry starred in "Things We Lost in the Fire," in which she portrayed a widow with children struggling to survive and deal with her limitations as she invites her late husband's best friend, played by Benicio Del Toro, to live with them. After playing the part, Halle said she was convinced she had to become a mother.

Next year, Halle Berry will star in “Frankie And Alice”, a movie about a woman who suffers of multiple personality disorder.
