The man who shot his wife and baby girl, while they were sleeping, is going to trial on Monday.

According to the Associated Press, authorities said that Neil Entwistle, a computer programmer from Carver, Mass., used a 22-caliber to shoot his wife, Rachel, and 9-month-old daughter, Lillian Rose. Afterwards, he left to his parents’ home in Worksop, England.

Entwistle, 27, said that he loved his family and was so terrified when he found them dead that he returned to his family’s home in England. He also said that he didn’t call for help because he was sure they were dead.

The trial will take place on Monday. He has been charged with first-degree murder on two counts.

His lawyers said that Entwistle was innocent and feared that, because of the media, his client won’t get a fair trial. The judge didn’t agree to move the trial date.

Entwistle and Rachel Souza met in 1999 and married in 2003. He claimed his marriage was perfect.

On the other hand, prosecutors said that Entwistle couldn’t find a job after they had moved to the United States. He began several Internet businesses but didn’t have any success. The couple often fight over money.

According to The Associated Press, authorities said that Entwistle’s story cannot be proven and that his DNA was found on the handle of the gun used to shoot the victims.
