Enjoy Your iPod While Flying With United Airlines

The cars that offer iPod connectivity are already old news. So, it seems like it is time to go to another level. Or, maybe should I say to another altitude?

The US carrier United Airlines is the first airline that will let its passengers to connect their iPhones or iPods to the in-flight entertainment system.

If you are one of the clients of the United #936, than you will be one of the lucky few to experience first hand the new connectivity, which was developed by Panasonic Avionics Corporation.

Still you don’t have to worry you will miss this feature, because United said that in the next two years its entire fleet of international, widebody aircraft will be reconfigured to offer iPod connectivity in first and business class.

As you can imagine Apple was thrilled to hear the news. "We think United customers are going to love being able to listen or watch personal music and video content on their iPod or iPhone via the in-flight entertainment system, and we can't wait for United to roll this out to their fleet," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice president of iPod & iPhone Product Marketing.

So it is no to hard to forecast that if United’s experiment will prove to be a success, soon the other companies will follow.
