It’s the 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards and the top
includes “The View,” with 7 nominations, “Rachael Ray” and “The Ellen DeGeneres
Show” with 8 nominations. These are the programs competing for the best talk
show. The Ellen DeGeneres Show is also up for Outstanding Talk Show.
CBS’s has collected 56 nominations and PBS is on second
place with 50 nominations including 13 for “Sesame Street.”
ABC’s “General
Hospital,” CBS’s “Guiding
Light,” ABC’s ”One Life to Live" with 13 nods and “The Young and the Restless,”
which got 17 nominations, are competing
for best daytime serial.
In the category for Outstanding Talk Show Host, Barbara
Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd,
Ellen DeGeneres, Regis Philbin and his co-host, Kelly Ripa are the
nominees. It’s most certain that Regis
Philbin will win the Lifetime Achievement Award.
“Today,” “Good Morning America” and CNN's “America Morning”
are up for Outstanding Morning Program this year.
As for the Outstanding Lifestyle Program, we have: the Food
Network's “Everyday Italian” and “Nigella Express,” PBS' Gourmet's “Diary of a
Foodie, ““Lidia's Italy“
and DIY Network's “Witch Crafts.”
The Daytime Emmys will be awarded June 20 in a ceremony at Los Angeles' Kodak Theatre.
ABC, which received 39 nominations, will broadcast the show.
