Emma Bunton, Mummy Baby Spice

It appears that Baby Spice passes her nickname to her first son, Beau. He was born yesterday at the at 1012 GMT at the private Portland Hospital in central London.

Weighting 3.5kg, Beau is a healthy baby and his mother is feeling well, too. "He is absolutely brilliant, both baby and Emma are doing fine,” said Jade Jones, Emma’s long-term boyfriend and the father of the new-born.

"In fact Emma is tucking into some flapjacks and Coca Cola as we speak! We are both absolutely delighted,” added the new father, best known from the former boy band, Damage.

Given the fact that Emma had pre-cancerous cells removed from her cervix in 2000 and last year was diagnosed with endometriosis, which made it difficult to conceive, everybody can comprehend the parents’ enthusiasm :  "It's pretty good, just amazing. We're both over the moon and absolutely thrilled to bits to have our little boy with us now. His name is French for handsome and he is definitely very handsome."

After having been together for eight years, Emma (31)  and Jade (27)  moved together the last year in their own cozy home, having five bedrooms, in North London.

Emma is the forth member of the Spice Girls to have become a mother, enlarging the Spice kids’ number to seven:  ‘Posh’ Victoria Beckham has three sons: Brooklyn (8), Romeo (4), and Cruz (2); Geri Halliwel aka Ginger Spice has a 14-month old child, Bluebell Madonna; and Mel B has two daughters, Angel Iris (4 months old) and Phoenix Chi. Only Melanie C is not a mother yet.

In June the Spice Girls join again, promising a 6 continent tour starting in December 2007, lasting until January the next year.
