No, we’re not talking about the British publisher that owns Lara Croft’s assets from Eidos, we’re talking about the Atlanta-based Super Computer International, a company involved in the gaming industry but not how you’d expect it.
Super Computer International is focused on providing gaming applications and software tools for the PC platform. It has already come up with a pretty successful messaging and game browsing platform called PlayLinc, which includes tools like VoIP, IM, buddy tracking, player invitations, team management and more.
Nanea Reeves, EA Vice President and COO for the Online segment, said that Jesper Jensen, Super Computer International CEO, will join EA’s Online Technology Group, will the gaming behemoth will enter in possession of SCI’s technology assets. According to EA’s statement, Jesper Jensen will continue to lead the PlayLinc team.
“SCI’s development expertise is uniquely suited to our online technology needs,” said Nanea Reeves. “The team’s technical leadership and creative approach is a great fit, and we’re thrilled to have them join EA.”
