Onetime American Idol contestant Jessica Sierra is being held without bail in a Tampa, Florida jail after she was arrested Saturday on multiple charges, including disorderly intoxication and offering sexual favors to the arresting police officer.
Jessica Sierra, 22, was arrested early Saturday after a drunken confrontation with police and onlookers at a nightclub in Tampa, Florida, authorities said. The young woman violated her parole in an earlier case, where she was charged with felony battery and drug possession charges.
According to police officers, Sierra resisted arrest. Celebrity website TMZ.com reports she was verbally abusive; she delivered racial slurs and profane expressions and offered to perform sexual favors so that she would not be arrested.
This bust comes just two weeks after Sierra pleaded no contest to charges stemming from an altercation in a Tampa bar in April. At the time, she was accused of hitting a man on the head with a glass. After she was taken into custody, police discovered a small amount of cocaine on her person.
Circuit County Judge Gregory Holder sentenced her on Nov. 19 to 12 months' probation and random drug screening.
She proved a difficult case Saturday, as she pushed and shoved police officers who were taking her into custody. “As the defendant was taken into custody, she attempted to push away and flee the scene,” the police report said.
A friend who tried to calm her down was reportedly attacked by Sierra on the street.
She is currently being held without bail, after a judge denied her bond this weekend.
The wannabe singer entered a rehab program in California in July. The allegedly successful treatment was set to be the subject of an episode of VH1's upcoming reality show “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.”
