Happy couple Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have called it
quits, after nearly one year of singing each other’s praises and smiling,
giggling sweetly for the cameras.
A rep for the actress has confirmed that she and actor
Justin Long are no longer a couple but remain “friends.”
It was not that long ago, say March, when both thespians
happily gushed about their love for each other, making a convincing plea for never-ending
love.
Drew Barrymore was more than willing to share with Oprah
Winfrey – and her millions of viewers – the pure joy of being in a romantic
relationship with Justin Long, saying about their romance: “It’s healthy, it’s
productive, and it’s supportive.”
Then again, the two had already held hands, kissed, hugged
and smiled cheerily for the enthusiastic cameras following them around. Their love
overcame everything.
A source told usmagazine.com that they “are still friends.”
Justin Long had previously said of his beautiful girlfriend:
“I found a best friend. She’s beautiful and funny - the most compassionate person
I’ve ever met.”
Drew Barrymore reiterated her feelings of romantic bliss to
Vogue magazine in March, confessing, “My cheeks hurt, I’m so happy.”
“She makes my cheeks hurt, too,” puppy-eyed Justin replied.
The former lovebirds may have to deal with some awkwardness
as they co-star in the movie adaptation of the best-seller “He’s Just Not That
Into You,” slated for release next February.
Drew Barrymore, 33, and Justin Long, 30, had inspired the
public with projections of wedding bells, white dresses and impressive wedding
cakes. Instead, another Hollywood romance has
bitten the dust.
A Golden Globe nominee, Barrymore is best known for her
parts in the “Charlie’s Angels” films, also starring Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu,
“Never Been Kissed” and “50 First Dates.”
Long is well known for his Mac advertisement campaign.
