Rap producer Dr. Dre’s 20-year-old son, Andre Young Jr., was found dead at his family’s home in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Dr. Dre and his family suffered a great shock this weekend as they discovered the dead body of son Andre Young Jr. in their Los Angeles home. The 20-year-old man had been out with his friends the night before.

His mother found him unresponsive Saturday morning. He was in his bed, Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter said, as quoted by the Los Angles Times.

No cause of death has been stated yet as authorities wait for toxicology test results to come in. This will take eight weeks, coroner’s officials said.

“Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr.,” Dr. Dre’s publicist Lori Earl said in a statement. The boy had been named after his father, whose real name is André Romelle Young.

The Los Angeles Times goes on to explain how, in 1990, Dr. Dre and Jenita Porter, mother of then 2-year-old Andre Young Jr., were involved in a paternity dispute. Porter was seeking monthly child support amounting to $5,000, while Dre claimed that he had only agreed to $500 a month. He did admit to being the child’s father though.
