Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are the happy parents
of a boy and a girl, Lopez’ manager told People Magazine exclusively.
The 39-year-old singer gave birth to twins early Friday
morning in Long Island, New York.
“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the
moon,” Simon Fields, Lopez’s manager told People.
The girl arrived first at 12:12 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs. 7
oz., and the boy was born 11 minutes later, weighing 6 lbs.
Lopez’s pregnancy was a mystery until November, last year,
when the singer confirmed she was pregnant at a concert in Miami while on a tour with her husband.
Whether she was expecting twins or no was also a top
priority for media around the world. Her father, David Lopez let the cat out of
the bag earlier this month during an interview on the Spanish show “Escandalo
TV,” telling his daughter was expecting twins.
And, just to keep up with the new trend among celebrity mommies
to show off their babies, Lopez makes no exception. She has reportedly struck a
deal worth up to $6 million for exclusive photos with the twins for People, an
inside source told the trade publication Advertising Age earlier this week. According
to the source, People “is poised to pay Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony between
$4 million and $6 million for exclusive US rights to the first photos.”
The report was not confirmed by People’s managing editor
Larry Hackett. “I have no comment on these particular pictures,” he said.
Lopez and Anthony married in 2004. The twins are the first
children for the happy mommy. Anthony, 39-year-old, has a daughter and two sons
from two previous relationships.
