Evidence unearthed in the woods where Florida child Caylee Anthony’s body was discovered last December match various items found in the house where the little girl lived, according to court documents released on Wednesday.
The documents released by the State Attorney’s Office disclose fresh information with regard to the case of the Orlando girl who went missing approximately one month before her disappearance was officially reported.
Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, has been charged with the murder of her daughter, in spite of the fact that she claims Caylee was abducted by a baby sitter and has pleaded not guilty.
The same types of laundry bag, plastic bag and duct tape found at the crime scene were discovered by investigators in the house where the little girl lived with her mother and grandparents, consistent with reports issued by detectives on the evidence.
Apart from a skull and numerous bones, investigators discovered a blemished Winnie the Pooh coverlet, pink-and-white-striped shorts, as well as a shirt that read “BIG TROUBLE Comes Small” near the crime scene. The skull had duct tape over the mouth that matched duct tape revealed at the Anthony home, while the remains were found in a laundry bag and plastic bag that bore numerous similarities to the items found at the house, according to the documents.
Marti Mackenzie, a spokeswoman for Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, explained in an e-mail that the detectives’ reports were prejudiced and tentative.
