Basketball superstar Michael Jordan seems to like
establishing records in his personal life too not only in his former career.
Holding the NBA highest career regular scoring record, 10 all time scoring
titles, six NBA MVP awards, six NBA championships, he is about to register the
record of his life after divorcing Juanita Jordan this week.
He will be paying $168 million (80 million pounds) to his
ex-wife from whom he separated in September 2006.
They got married in 1984 and stayed together for a few years
having three children together. The couple began having troubles in 2002 when
they first filed for divorce claiming irreconcilable differences.
They reviewed their marital problems and agreed on reconciliation
for a few more years, but they refiled for divorce in 2006.
After the divorce, Juanita gained custody of the
children as well as the seven-acre estate in Chicago but she also became famous for the biggest
monetary award in celebrity history according to the Times.
In the Top Five Celebrity Divorces , the former Jordan couple is followed by Neil Diamond and Marcia Murphey with a 75 million pounds settlement,
Steven Spielberg and Amy Irving with 50 million pounds, Harrison Ford and
Melissa Mathison with 42 million pounds and Kevin Costner and Cindy Silva with
40 million pounds.
According to media sources, the celebrity sportsman has been
recently pictured with a series of young women, while his former wife seems to
be involved in a relationship with a banker, who is 20 years younger than she
is.
