Onscreen siblings, Michael C. Hall, 37, and Jennifer Carpenter, 29, who have been secretly dating in real life for about a year and a half, were legally married on New Year's Eve in California.
According to Michael C. Hall’s spokesman, the actor, who plays Dexter Morgan on Showtimes’ “Dexter,” and Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister Deb, eloped on New Year’s Eve and exchanged vows in Big Sur, California.
“They were married outdoors in Big Sur, California,” Craig Bankey told E! Online. Jennifer carried a bouquet of white roses with her grandfather's wedding band attached.
Although family and loved ones did not attend the ceremony, they all shared in a celebratory toast to the couple, Bankey said.
The pair made their first public appearance as a married couple on Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton. The series was up for multiple awards including best series against the likes of “House,” “Mad Men” and more while Hall was nominated for best actor in a TV drama. The show, which is set to be back for at least two more seasons, just completed its third season.
Upon finding out the news of Hall’s wedding to Carpenter, co-star Julie Benz, who plays Hall’s wife on the show, told Access Hollywood the two made a great couple and she wished them all the best.
“I know that they are madly in love,” she added.
This is the second marriage for the former “Six Feet Under” star who was previously married to actress Amy Spanger back in 2002. The two became co-stars in Broadways’ Chicago after they tied the knot. The pair filed for divorce in 2006.
