U.S. actress Heather Locklear, famous for her roles in television Dynasty and Melrose Place, has checked into a clinic in Arizona that treats depression.
"She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment," said Cece Yorke, the star’s spokeswoman, on Tuesday. According to Yorke, the 47-year old star has been dealing with anxiety and depression. Locklear’s representative ended her statement pointing out that the matter was confidential and no other declarations would be made.
Locklear has been married twice, first with Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and a second and last at the same time with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Her last marriage found its divorce last year. Sambora and Locklear have a daughter together called Ava Elizabeth.
In June last year Sambora entered a therapy facility in Los Angeles, but the reason why he did it was not clear.
Actor Jack Wagner, 48, Locklear’s partner in “Melrose Place”, who reportedly has been dating Locklear since April last year, presented words of support for her. "Anyone who has the courage to seek help in order to live a healthy life gets my support 110 percent," he told People Magazine.
In March, a representative for Locklear said the actress was "fine" after a 911 call was made by a man claiming he was her doctor and who was afraid she would try to commit suicide.
"[I] spoke with Heather and she is fine. She never requested medical assistance and did not place a 911 call, nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance," the rep said at the time .
At the time, Locklear's rep also denied TMZ's report that the movie star’s psychiatrist called 911 on her behalf.
