Dentist Sues For $25 Million Because Of The Pipe Explosion

A New York dentist has requested a compensation of $25 million because the pipe explosion that occurred earlier this month in New York has not let him to do his job for over a week.

The dentist has demanded this huge amount of money from the energy supplier Con Edison because he claims its business has been extremely affected by the incident.

The dentist’s business is specialized in cosmetic surgery and the man has claimed that he has been serving several important persons, such as models, executives and other members of high society, who themselves have been affected by the drawback. If these things are true, the man must have lost a fortune in a week, but would that really be the equivalent of $25 million?

However the dentist is not the only one who has been angered by the explosion, as another person, a woman, has filed a similar complaint against the energy supplier. A 52-year-old woman who was injured by the explosion is seeking an unknown amount of compensation.

The problematic steam pipe that exploded last week in central New York was 84 years old. The explosion opened a crater and sent hot steam, rocks and mud into the air for about two hours. A woman died of heart failure and other 20 persons were injured.

Con Edison is accused of not taking enough care with the maintenance of New York's energy system.
