Basketball player Dennis Rodman is reportedly in trouble again, after allegedly harassing a woman in a Newport Beach bar.
The 46-year-old former basketball star may have broken the law again, according to a report from celebrity gossip site TMZ.com. Rodman was in Hennessy’s Tavern in Dana Point, near Laguna Beach, says TMZ, when he slapped a woman’s behind.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is reportedly investigating the incident.
Jim Amormino, a spokesperson for the O. C. Sheriff, told TMZ: “Officers did respond to an incident involving a man and a woman. A police report was taken, and is currently with the sex crime unit of the Sheriff's department.”
Rodman’s enthusiasm was apparently so great that his slap left a “major mark” on the woman’s derriere.
Dennis was famously married to Playboy favorite Carmen Electra in the late 1990s. The two divorced after nine days of marital bliss. Carmen’s marriage of two and a half years to Dave Navarro became official earlier this summer.
Rodman is well known for his penchant for bizarre appearances and situations. He bears an impressive number of tattoos and piercings and often dies his hair in unexpected shades of pink, green, yellow etc.
According to the New York Daily News, Rodman has been at the center of disputes involving women in nightclubs in recent years.
A jury cleared Rodman of civil claims concerning an incident in which a woman claimed he drugged and raped her, reports the Daily News.
According to the basketball player’s website, drodman.com, he will star in a forthcoming “heartwarming” family comedy titled “The Minis,” in which he plays the coach of a basketball team of little people.
His previous movie credits include appearances in “Double Team” alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme, “Simon Sez” with Dane Cook and “Cutaway” with Tom Berenger.
