The first one to speak about her upcoming stint on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” actress Denise Richards told People magazine about her biggest fears about the show.
“My biggest fear is just forgetting everything right before going on live, that’s what I’m scared of,” the reality star said of her new role as contestant on the eighth season of “Dancing With the Stars.” “All I hope is that I don’t embarrass my girls!”
Richards, who is the mother of 3-year-old Lola and 4-year-old Sam from her marriage to actor Charlie Sheen, said her daughters are allowed to stay up late when the show is on.
The list of contestants for the ninth season of “Dancing” was released several days and in addition to the obvious participants it included several surprise choices, like singer Jewel’s husband, bull rider Ty Murry, who will be competing against each other, Lil Kim and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
The cast looks like it’s going to be an interesting one - there are contestants from every walk of life and every genre of entertainment. “Dancing with the Stars” used to be considered the lowest of the low - the place you turn to when your career is on the downturn and “The Surreal Life” denies your application. But with people like Steve-O, Lil Kim, Jewel, Access Hollywood co-anchor Nancy O'Dell, former NFL superstar Lawrence Taylor and Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Shawn Johnson as cast members, maybe that stereotype is changing.
ABC has yet to reveal each celebrity's professional partner, however they have disclosed that Wicks will be dancing with Julianne Hough, who he began dating when they were both participating in country star Brad Paisley's tour last summer. The new season’s dancer/celebrity pairings will be announced on Thursday, February 12.
