The ongoing war between former couple Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen heated up again when the actress lashed out at her former husband, who released a never-before published email reportedly from Richards to his current fiancée, Brooke Meuller, in which she was seeking a sample of his sperm so she could use it to become pregnant with a third child even after the broke up.
Although the two have gotten divorced two years ago, they are still firing bitter words at each other every chance they get. Most recently, Sheen decided to "set the record straight" regarding an email Richards reportedly lied about during one of her appearances on Larry King's show last week.
While on NBC's Today show on Wednesday, Richards insisted she never sent such an email dismissing it as a fake.
"The e-mail's not legitimate. It's a doctored e-mail," the actress, who is currently promoting her new E! reality show "Denise Richards: It's Complicated," which debuts Monday, May 26, told Matt Lauer "I would never send an e-mail to [Brooke Meuller]. And, at the time of that e-mail, I was with Richie. If I wanted anybody's sperm, I'd have asked for Richie's."
"Charlie and I have very beautiful healthy children together," she continued, "I was strictly looking for a sperm donor if it's any of your business."
Richards took a new aim at Sheen suggesting that he is trying to sabotage her new reality show unless she agrees to some changes in the custody order.
"When I originally approached Charlie, he didn't have a problem. He signed the waiver" to allow their two young daughters to appear on the show, she said.
"And he changed his mind. …Charlie wanted me to agree to custody changes to our stipulation. And then he said he would give me the waiver. And one has nothing to do with the other."
But the "Two and a Half Men" star lashed back at Richards' accusation issuing a terse statement, read on the air. He called the fabrication claim absurd. "The mere fact the she continues to publicly discuss and harass both Brooke and me three years after our separation which, for the record is longer than the actual length of the marriage, is beyond desperate and speaks volumes," Sheen said.
Not stopping with just harsh words, Charlie challenged Denise to take the issue to court.
"I will no longer sit back and be egregiously painted as a liar. If any proof can be established that these are not in fact her words and statements verbatim, I openly invite her and would even encourage Ms. Richards to sue me in a court of law," he added.
