During an early morning CES press conference Friday, Dell introduced a set of new products such as a new netbook, USB TV tuner, and a high-power gaming desktop. It also offered the press a peak at its mysterious luxury notebook, dubbed Adamo.
However the ones present there were only teased by the Adamo, as a model carried the notebook around in front of the room in only one hand but in low light, then she was whisked away from the stage.
But Dell consumer sales and marketing vice president Michael Tatelman said the Adamo will represent Dell's "luxury franchise", and to expect a release in the first half of this year. Nevertheless no details regarding the const of the product were revealed whatsoever.
Moreover nothing was said about which processor is inside either. We just know that the Adamo is sleek, thin, and black. "It will have the better capabilities you'd expect," Senior Vice President of Consumer Products Alex Gruzen offered.
Speculation around Adamo heated up late last year when news media and observers said Adamo was an ultraportable laptop that was the company's response to Apple's Macbook Air. Dell also leaked out accessories for an ultraportable laptop called Adamo Thirteen, which pointed to a laptop with a 13-inch screen in line with Dell's branding conventions. The company already offers the Inspiron Mini 9, which has a 9-inch screen, and Inspiron Mini 12, which has a 12-inch screen.
Adamo is Latin for "to fall in love with, to find pleasure with." In other words the company certainly wants to hit the bull’s eye with this one.
