The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas brought some new announcements from Dell, and confirmed some of the rumors that had been circulating for quite some time. Yes, Adamo exists, as it has been
suggested in December, and it looks as good as we expected.
First of all, there isn’t really anything we can say about Adamo, since Dell was only kind enough to show it off, but was not available for further comments on it. However, they did say Adamo comes from Latin, and means “fall in love with,” and confirmed we can expected it to be launched sometime in the first half of 2009.
For now, what we can say about Adamo is that it is sleek, very thin, and black, and will be branded as one of Dell’s luxury models. Unfortunately, the presentation of Adamo was so short that not even the smallest particle of dust had time to sit on it, so more details are expected to be released in the coming months.
Another announcement revolved around Dell’s Mini line of notebooks. The company confirmed the Mini 10, and as resumed by a company’s recent blog posting, there are 10 things we need to know about the Mini 10.
The system comes with Edge-to-Edge 16:9 HD 720p display, Edge to Edge keyboard, built-in TV Tuner, built-in Mobile Broadband, built-in GPS, built-in 802.11n, unique multi-touch and gesture touchpad, exclusive gestures (Home Screen, Auto-Scroll, My Favorites), Intel Atom Z530, and expanded color palette and popular Design Studio Images.
Dell also announced, together with AT&T, that the Inspiron Mini 9 will cost $99 instead of $499 after a Dell mail-in rebate, all throughout the month of January (with a two-year AT&T LaptopConnect agreement).
