Dell pushes hard to win over a booming market driven by the so-called digital nomads, professionals who need ability to perform their work on the go, and as a result announced ten brand new Latitude corporate laptops.
The new line of Dell's long-running business laptop line boasts as much as 19 hours of battery life, as well as other innovative features which are hard to find in mainstream machines.
The most demanded features by digital nomads are all day connectivity, long battery life, high-level security and uncompromising design and durability, according to Andy Lark, Dell's vice president of global marketing.
As expected, the lineup includes an ultralight model and backlit keyboards for working in dark rooms. The ultralight model is lighter than Apple's ultra-thin MacBook Air at just 2.2 pounds and features a 12.1-inch screen.
The lineup includes the 14.1-inch E5400, which starts at $839, and the 15.4-inch E5500, which starts at $869; the 14.1-inch E6400 and the 15.4-inch E6500, which start at $1,139 and $1,169; 14.1-inch semi-rugged E6400 ATG, which starts at $2,399; the ultraportable 12.1-inch Latitude E4200 and the 13.3-inch E4300.
The Latitude E6400 ATG is built and tested to meet MIL-810F standards for dust, vibration, humidity, and altitude. As with previous models, it features a removable shock-mounted hard drive, spill-resistant keyboard, and port covers.
