Dell is certainly working on a new laptop, as they even created a special web site for the new machine, which will be called Adamo. The site is simple and doesn’t give any real information, simply reading “Adamo by Dell, Coming Soon.”
There is a lot of speculation referring to Dell’s new laptop and it seems that most people think the new product will rival Apple’s MacBook Air. The rumor that Dell is working on a laptop that will be as thin as air has been promoted on the Internet and though there weren’t any official statements from Dell, the rumor has been widely distributed.
The idea that Dell is making a rival for the Air comes from the statement of Dell that it wants to be associated with something specific. This can mean a lot of things, and as their site is widely promoting the fact that they are a “green” company, the Adamo might as well be the laptop with the lowest consumption rate, the ”greenest” laptop ever designed.
The MacBook Air was promoted very well, especially on the Internet, with clips showing that the entire machine can fit into a paper envelope. Many don’t believe that Dell will be releasing a machine that is going to promote thinness and are hoping for something more radical.
Dell is one of the most respected laptop manufacturers and designers in the world and this is certainly exciting news. There is not a clear date for the release of Adamo, but rumors have it that the Adamo will be shown to the public in February next year.
