The case of the death by beating of the popular Little Rock, Ark., anchorwoman Anne Pressly may lead to the solving of another case which was kind of out cold. Police investigators found out that DNA evidence from Pressly's crime scene matched the attacker and rapper of Kristen Edwards, of Marianna, Ark.

Now the investigators from both cities are working together to find out who did what. A suspect – Curtis Lavell Vance - was already arrested and charged in the case of Pressly’s murder.
The 26-year-old, Little Rock anchorwoman was severely beaten and raped in her home in October. Her mother found her in a coma from which she never recovered. It was a random attack, police said. The attacker stole her laptop, a credit card and a few other things.
District Judge Lee Munson imposed a gag order in the capital murder case against Vance.
The other attack took place about 100 miles away. Edwars, a school teacher was attacked and rapped. The attacker warned her not to turn and see his face while he beat and rapped her. She said she feared for her life.
"I pretty much did as I was told to do," she said. "I didn't look, I didn't fight, I stopped yelling - that sort of thing."
In Pressly’s case the scenario was different. She fought for her life, but in the end she lost it. Doctors said her left hand had been broken, which is a sign that she fought back. Five days after she was found unconscious in her apartment, Pressly died in the hospital after her brain stem ruptured. She had also been sexually assaulted. A part of her jaw bone was broken away, her parents said.
"It was brutal. Blood all over the walls; [I] could not recognize her," said her mother, Patti Cannady.
