Daniel Radcliffe,
best known for his Harry Potter part is of the opinion that his nude scene in "Equus" that has
been so much talked about is not a big deal. "It's only
seven minutes at the end of the play," Radcliffe, 19, told the audience at
an Aug. 19 talk held by the New York Times.
He is currently in New
York City rehearsing for the above mentioned play. He
also starred in “Equus” in London
last year. Actually Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths both played in the London version of the play maybe because Thea Sharrock,
who directed the London
run, will direct on Broadway as well. The New York preview of the play is to begin
September 5 at the Broadhurst Theatre prior to an official opening on September
25. The production will run through February 8, 2009.
Radcliffe will star as Alan Strang while Griffiths plaus Dr. Martin Dysart. Stage and
screen actress Mulgrew will play Hesther Saloman, the role which was brought to
life on Broadway by Marian Seldes in 1974.
The creative team also remained unchanged and features set
and costume designer John Napier, lighting designer David Hersey and sound
designer Gregory Clarke.
Actors who have been in the cast for the first time are the
following: nna Camp (The Country Girl), Carolyn McCormick (The Dinner
Party, "Law & Order"), Lorenzo Pisoni (Henry IV), T.
Ryder Smith (Dead Man's Cell Phone, She Stoops to Comedy), Graeme
Malcolm (Translations, Aida) and Sandra Shipley (Pygmalion, Retreat
from Moscow) with Collin Baja, Tyrone Jackson, Spencer Liff, Adesola
Osakalumi and Marc Spaulding.
