Daniel Dae Kim Is 'Truly, Truly Sorry' For DUI Arrest

The “Lost” actor who was arrested by Hawaiian police early Thursday morning on suspicion of drunken driving released a remorseful statement apologizing for the incident.

“I am deeply ashamed and embarrassed by my actions of Thursday morning. It saddens me to know that I jeopardized the welfare of the kind people of Hawaii, a community that I love and call my home,” the statement to TMZ read.

The actor known for playing “Jin-Soo Kwon,” on ABC’s island drama “Lost” was taken into custody after police officers spotted him driving erratically at about 2:30 a.m. He was booked at a Honolulu downtown police station and released on bail.

“It is my intention to cooperate fully with the police and I am grateful to them for their sensitivity throughout this matter. To my friends, family, colleagues and fans, thank you for your kind words of support. To those I have disappointed I can only ask that you accept my heartfelt apologies. I am truly, truly sorry,” the statement added.

Kim is the fourth cast member to get “lost,” following in the footsteps of three of his former co-stars.

In December 2005, Michelle Rodriguez, who played the tough police officer “Ana Lucia,” and Cynthia Watros, who played “Libby,” were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Kailua, Hawaii after police officers spotted their cars tottering along Pali Highway. They both pled guilty to the charges.

Rodriguez was sentenced to five days behind bars and $357 in fine, while Watros had her drivers license suspended for 90 days and was ordered to pay a $312 fine. Rodriguez is currently facing a 180-day jail sentence for failure to comply with the terms of her probation. Both their characters were axed in an upcoming episode.

In 2006, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje, famous for playing “Mr. Eko,” was also removed from the show after his arrest for disobeying a police officer and driving without a license made headlines. He later provided proof he did posses a valid license and the charges were dropped, but his character was killed off by the smoke monster living on the island.
