'Dancing With The Stars' Couple To Wed

"Dancing with the Stars" performers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are set to dance their way down the aisle after reportedly getting engaged on New Year's Eve, People reported.

The couple, who have been dating for several months, took a break from the show's winter tour, which both are performing in, shocked everyone when the happy news surfaced.

"They really rushed into this," a source told Usmagazine.com. Smirnoff broke up with longtime boyfriend Mario Lopez after a two-year relationship in June last year.

"I wish them the best, of course, I don't know what Karina's thinking," the source adds. "She's just a hopeless romantic who wants a storybook romance."

Set to star in the ninth season of the ABC show which kicks of in March, the two were in between shows in Salt Lake City and Tulsa, Oklahoma, when they got engaged. The couple rang in 2009 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. The pair had been friends for 15 years before they started dating.  No word from either camp on a possible wedding date.

"They are really cute together," a source told People.

The 28-year-old Ukraine-native, who started a controversy when he named dancers on the show that needed to lose weight, presented Smirnoff, 30, with a Harry Winston ring.

The two won't be the only married pros competing on "Dancing With the Stars."  Edyta Silwinska and Alec Mazo tied the knot in 2007.
