Creative launched a new better version of their MP3 player Zen Stone. Called Zen Stone Plus, the new player has 2 GB flash memory, a color screen and includes features life FM radio, a clock, stopwatch and voice recording.

Priced at US$69.99 the new player will be available in July at Amazon.com, Buy.com, Dell.com, Fry's Electronics, Frys.com, J&R, Newegg.com, Target.com, WalMart.com and us.creative.com.

Like its predecessor, the Creative ZEN Stone Plus comes in six high-gloss colors: black, white, red, blue, pink and green, and it feature a smooth contoured design.

Also Creative ZEN Stone Plus might be personalized with attractive silicone skins that include a clip and are available in five different colors.

ZEN Stone Plus doesn’t require special software to load it with songs. The songs can be copied with a simple drag&drop, similar to any USB drive. Creative said 1000 WMA songs encoded at 64Kbps or 500 MP3 tunes at 128Kbps can be stored on ZEN Stone Plus.

Creative says a minimum hardware requirement of at least a 1GHz Pentium III or AMD Duron processor with 256MB of memory and 170MB of free hard drive space are needed. The ZEN Stone Plus can be used also a transfer device for personal files.

The original Zen Stone, which has no screen and only 1 GB of memory, was launched a month ago.
