Courteney Cox will reportedly star in a brand new sitcom called "Cougar Town." ABC has ordered a comedy pilot in which the 44-year-old actress will impersonate an attractive single 40-year-old mom with a 17-year-old son.

The sitcom comes from "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence who also worked with Courteney Cox on the super hit comedy sitcom “Friends.”

"Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free," said Lawrence, who added that there is much comedy about a woman who is talking about botox, about having sex with the lights on and the changes she experiences in her body.

The idea for the show comes from Lawrence and co-writer Kevin Biegel, who also worked on “Scrubs,” but Lawrence was the one that wanted Cox on the show. She described the actress as "comedically fearless" and said she would be perfect for the lead role in "Cougar Town."

Courtneney Cox returned the favor and said that she was a huge fan of Bill Lawrence and his “comedic sensibilities."

The production stage on “Cougar Town” will most likely begin in early January and the show will probably be launched in midseason.

Cox recently had a role and also exec produced the FX drama "Dirt." The show was canceled during the Hollywood writers strike.

If the female audience will find the sitcom about the who-knows-how-amusing reality of aging, looks-related worries and other similar issues interesting enough to watch, it remains to be seen.
