Country music singer Chris Cagle and his girlfriend were
arrested early Wednesday morning, charged with domestic assault.
The singer was arrested in Nashville shortly after getting into a
drunken brawl with his girlfriend Jennifer Tant.
Nashville
police said the couple were drinking at a local bar, and a verbal argument they
had turned into physical fight. Apparently, Tant hit Cagle in the head with an
umbrella, while Cagle hit her with a purse.
"Both parties struck each other resulting in visible
marks," the criminal complaint states, according to E!Online. "The
defendant had a raised area on the right side of his head while the victim had
a scrape on her upper left hip and a sore/red left upper arm."
The police report writes that Tant had a scrape on her left
upper hip and a sore, red left upper arm, while Cagle had a raised area on the
right side of the head.
The two will remain in jail for at least 12 hours, with a
bail of $1,500,according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office.
A spokesman for Capitol Nashville, Cagle’s record label,
refused to comment the situation.
Police were unable to determine who of the two was guilty, so
they took them both into custody.
This isn’t the first time Cagle is accused of aggressive
behaviour. The singer is supposed to stand trial on one count of misdemeanor
assault, following his involvement into a fight outside Tucson, Ariz.
