Although the “Hannah Montana” star is not 16 yet, the happy event occurring on November 23, she already had a “surprise” over-the-top birthday party. The supersize bash was so much more than anyone has expected, greater and more celebrity-packed than any other party thrown for all the other rich spoiled kids you see on MTV.
Disney, as one that earns some cool millions out of Miley’s work, and her parents, who can’t complain either, teamed up to throw a celebration like no other. And what could they do that was never done before? Well, close the entire Disneyland for a 15-year-old rock star and actress and her invitees.
There was, of course, a purple carpet, instead of a red one, for celebrity friends to walk on, as we all know this is Miley’s favorite color. There were also a fireworks display high above Sleeping Beauty Castle and 16 giant inflatable candles and 5000 people to pay the $250 ticket, just to see the new rising star of Hollywood on her big day.
When asked what else could she want, aside from that adorable new puppy that she named Sophie and a couture gown from Elie Saab’s spring/summer 2008 collection and well…the entire themepark just for herself, Cyrus said, like it was the most natural thing in the world: "My parents shut down Disneyland for me, so I'm good for a while."
The party also included a mini concert, with dad Billy Ray Cyrus singing some of his most famous tunes, like the 1992 hit country song “Achy Breaky Heart” and Miley singing some of her own, like "Breakout" and "G.N.O.," as well as, of course, a “Happy Birthday” from the large crowd.
Some of the celebrities who enjoyed the Disneyland rides and the lavish food and drinks were Steve Carell, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Archuleta and Jennie Garth, along with their families or entourage.
Miley Cyrus sealed her celebrity status with this one, transforming her sixteen birthday party into a must-go-to event for every self-respecting Hollywood star that was lucky enough to be invited. She managed, as well, to earn some serious cash for Disney, as they didn’t miss the chance to promote some of their own marketing initiatives.
The afterparty, however, was a little bitter, as the press, as well as thousands of regular people complained about the display of luxury, in this rough economical state, when kids Miley’s age don’t even afford to go to the doctor, while she looks like she is following the footsteps of other Disney little stars, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, throwing money in all directions and causing one controversy after the other.
Her latest is the half naked picture she took for Vanity Fair, with her back bared and only a sheet to cover her 15-year-old breasts, which made parents around the country to cover their children’s eyes and claim that the “Hannah Montana” star is no role model to be looking up to.
