Glenn Close, Tate Donovan, Rose Byrne and Ted Danson come back to the television series “Damages,” accompanied by new cast formed of William Hurt and Marcia Gay Harden. The legal drama television series co-created by Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman debuted on FX on July 24, 2007, in the United States.
The plot for the first season was somehow slightly designed as it told the story of a good but ruthless lawyer, interpreted by Glenn Close, who fights to win a lawsuit against the former CEO of a corporation on behalf of his former workers, by any means.
Yet, the first season was released with limited commercial interruption and ran for only 13 episodes. The first of them, “Get Me a Lawyer,” is to be found for free on the UK iTunes Store and was released by BBC.
The FX has recently renewed the show for two more seasons of 13 episodes each. Season two started to be produced in June 2008 and premieres on January 7, 2009, on the FX. In addition, even if Ray Fiske killed himself in the first season, Zeljko Ivanek will still interpret the role for several episodes of season two, according to the Entertainment Weekly.
The plot for season two will be added more information about Ellen’s family and the storyline revolves around Ellen working undercover for the FBI as to bring Patty down.
The first season of “Damages” will be available for purchase in Region 1 for both DVD and Blu-ray formats from January 29, 2009. The DVD is out for Region 4 from December 2007, but contains no special features.
